As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuh

Just giving you a short update.
AlhumduliLlah, a well-wisher has found another house which can be used both for orphanage and school and they are prepared to pay for the rent! It is a very spacious place and seems to have been made just for them. Insha'Allah the girls will be moving in soon.

If all goes well, this means we can now focus on other things, that will benefit the children.

Please continue to keep the girls in your prayers. Jazakum'Allahu khair for all those who have helped, in whatever way possible.

New Property

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuh

Unfortunately we still do not know where the Norwegian Organization (NGO) stands in helping out, so insha'Allah we will continue to collect donations to help our dear sisters. They are in dire need of better living conditions.. thus, we can't afford to waste time, and live on the hope that the organization will come through.

Please help where you can.

Some images of the new property. AlhumduliLlah, it's a wonderful piece of land, so much bigger than the last one, with space for the girls to play, grow crops, and enjoy the sunshine, insha'Allah.

The small house will be demolished, and a bigger place will be built.

Crops planted.

So much land! AlhumduliLlah

Fatima Mulenga

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

Below is an update directly from the orphanage, please, please keep these girls (our sisters) in your prayers.

"We unfortunately lost one of our girls at the Orphanage, Fatima Mulenga. She was one of the 6 HIV positive receiving treatment at the Hospital. It was very sad. Specially when we went to the Chibolya Musjid to see how helpless Tasleem, Jamila and Amina were in organising the funeral. We did give them the money but they have to do everything from scratch. The Musjid does not keep Kaffan material nor planks and has got no contact for transport arrangement. Noorjehan, Zarina and myself got the material from Limbada and went to talk to the Head of the Musjid to organise the transport. The whole funeral was very costly, more than what they would get in a month for food.

After this experience, which upset us a lot and have opened our eyes even more, we have decided to organise funeral arrangements and leave everything at the Orphanage for the ladies who want to use them.

Last month we also got help from a wellwisher and we bought supplies for the whole months, which included everything involved in running the Orphanage. This money will Insha'Allah enable us to revive all the activities we used to do before.

The Norwegian Org. which was supposed to help is not very decisive in their actions. So we have decided to ask for donations locally, to start with. We will be going to the local Islamic Organisation including the Lusaka Muslim Society and the Lusaka Muslim Welfare Association to present this cause again."

Oh Allah! Surely Fatima is under Your Protection, and in the rope of Your security, so save her from the trial of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire. You fulfill promises and grant rights, so forgive her and have mercy on her. Surely You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. Ameen.

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

Subhan'Allah, never.. ever underestimate the power of dua' (prayer) and a little effort.

I have some wonderful news for everyone, insha'Allah. A Norwegian organization (NGO) has come to our aid. With their help, a large piece of land has already been purchased. Structural plans have also been drawn, to include; 14 classrooms and a large dormitory... alhumduliLlah.

Insha'Allah we will no longer be needing donations for the building. Thank you to all those who helped financially. May Allah Most High grant your barakah in your wealth, and life. Ameen.

As soon as everything is constructed, I shall try and add some pictures, insha'Allah.

Jazak'Allahum khair to all those who helped; with your money, time, effort, letting others know about this project, and your precious prayers.

As for the Book & Bake Sale planned for June, insha'Allah I would still like to go ahead with this event, but use the money for other projects, like the Islam In Colombia project.

Please continue to keep those less fortunate in your prayers, and always make big intentions when you do something even if you think you can only accomplish a little. Allahu akbar!

Insha'Allah in June I would love to hold a Book & Bake sale, with all the proceeds going to the Orphanage in Africa.

I'd also like to sell bookmarks! If anyone is willing to help out, by making bookmarks please contact me (amtullah79@yahoo.ca) for a mailing address. There is no specifications, so design your heart out!
Last date to get them in: June 1st, 2008.

And for anyone living in and around Toronto (Canada) who can help with baked goods, please email me. I'd really appreciate all the help I can get.

Jazak'Allah for your time and effort.

RIS Donations
Tuesday, January 22, 2008
As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

Sorry about the delayed post.
AlhumduliLlah, we managed to raise $442.22 at the Reviving The Islamic Spirit Conference.

Subhan'Allah the frequent donations came from little children. A little girl, around 7 years old decided to add the money she had to the donation box instead of buying herself a scarf. May Allah shower His blessings and mercy upon them. Ameen. It says so much about the future generation! AlhumduliLlah.

Jazak'Allah to all those that have contributed to helping this project, be it donations, prayers, well wishes, or making others aware of it.
